Average Construction Time;
-Fighters: 7-9 hours
-Dive Bombers: 8-12 hours
-Med./Heavy Bombers: 10-16+ hours
NOTE: All models are 1:72 to Scale unless noted otherwise. I do all models by hand personally using only acrilic paint, paintbrush, airplane glue, tweezers, and a razor, nothing more. I use no decals whatsoever as well, considering that adding them in now would look strange as it would be the only model WITH decals.
Yeah, I don't think theres a lot out there. The lack of good hobby shops is proof. Thanks for the kind words but I've been very slow in making my next one. Aside from the lack of time, The Dewoitine was bought off ebay and it was opened and found to have the canopy missing. I've discovered that the majority purchased off Ebay tends to have their canopy missing. I usually can find a fitting spare from prior models (I tend to keep spare pices for cases like this). When I have a day off I'll probably do it...hopefully
Defective or missing parts are a modeller's worst enemy . Who knows, you can never trust eBay.
Hope this link can help you. http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=FNCV2672
Forget the hefty price tag... if you're desperate.
I've only had to use Ebay for the more exotic models like the one I mentioned. They simply don't make that plane model anymore I suppose. After that I'm going to try and do some more medium bombers, or a B-17 if I ever get it in 1:72 scale in town.
thanks for the tip, but I have a Lancaster Bomber under my bed. I'll probably return to fighter construction after that. Particularly fighters from nations that I havn't done yet. Heres a list of known fighters/bombers that I'd like to try and get after the Lancaster.
(Polish) PZL P.11 or PZL P.24
(Belgian) Renard R-31 or R-32
(Australian) CAC Boomerang
(Romanian) IAR 80 or IAR 81
I'm also trying to find if China, Norway, Sweeden, Belgum, Netherlands, Finland, Greece, Bulgaria, Chech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, and any other nations involved durring WWII. I know that theres a good few nations listed that produced none of their own aircraft, but I'm trying to find out if they did or not. Particularly China I'm trying to find out if they had a plane of their own (not imported.
I don't think China had a plane of their own back then. Most of it were western/russian imports and captured Japanese types.
-Sweden manufactured their own aircraft but were a few only(and copies of other aircraft). Their most memorable work is probably a Swedish Gladiator called J8.
-Czech Republic manufactured their own(biplanes before being overrun by Germany), some of the luftwaffe aircraft were made in the Czech republic.
-The Dutch made Fokkers in the war whatever those damn Fokkers are called.
-Finns... well, they improved some Morane Saulniers to turn them to the venerable yet few Morko Moranes
-The Austrians made an Albatross variant called oeffag albatross but that's way back in WW1.
thanks much, it does help out. That kinda filled in what I figured already, but I thought for sure China and Finland had their own aircraft.
Anyways, I think my list is about as compleate as its gonna get, however some of those I got on my list I'll be damm luckey to find a model for, particularly in just 1:72 scale!
Thanks, Zingeh made it for me, its a more profesional design of what I conser is a personal crest. Its the Phoneix (sympolising rebirth) standing between the sun (life) and moon (death). Its part of my core belive that rebrith works both ways, from life into death or death into life.
My Journal will only be used to keep tabs of my models listed. Why only this? I dunno, I'm just bored. I keep this up so I have a constant tally for myself on what I have, considering I have so many now ;
